Frequently Asked Questions
How do I know if my hardwood can be repaired vs. replaced?
Most hardwood floors can be repaired if the damage is limited to a few boards. We assess board thickness, species match availability, and subfloor condition. If more than 30% of the floor is damaged or the boards are too thin to sand, full replacement may be more cost-effective.
Will repaired boards match the rest of my floor?
We source matching species and stain to blend repairs as seamlessly as possible. On older floors with natural patina, we feather-sand and re-finish the surrounding area for the closest possible match. Perfect invisibility is not always guaranteed, but results are typically very natural-looking.
How long does a hardwood repair take?
Most single-room repairs take 1–2 days including sanding and finishing dry time. Complex repairs with multiple boards or stair integration may take 2–3 days. We'll give you a specific timeline during the quote.
Can you fix squeaky hardwood floors without replacing boards?
Yes. Most squeaks are caused by boards rubbing against each other or loose subfloor fasteners. We can inject adhesive, add screws from below, or re-nail from above to eliminate squeaks without disturbing the surface finish.
