Surfaces PreparationSurfaces Preparation
Proper demo is the foundation of a great flooring installation. We remove all types of existing floor coverings — carpet, hardwood, tile, LVP, and vinyl — carefully, efficiently, and with full debris removal and disposal included.
We protect adjacent surfaces and cabinetry, then remove all existing flooring using appropriate tools. Adhesive residue, tack strips, and staples are fully removed. All debris is bagged and removed from the property.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is included in your demolition service?
We remove the existing floor covering, pull up all tack strips, staples, and nails, remove adhesive residue where possible, and bag and haul all debris off site. Subfloor inspection is included. What we don't do in a standard demo is structural work or modification to the subfloor itself - that's a separate scope if needed.
How long does floor removal take?
A single room demo (200-400 sq ft) takes half a day to a full day depending on the flooring type and how it's attached. Tile removal takes the longest because of the hard bonded adhesive underneath. Carpet pulls out quickly. We sequence demo to align with your flooring installation schedule so there's no lag time between tear-out and new installation.
What if there is asbestos in the old flooring or adhesive in my home?
Asbestos was commonly used in vinyl floor tiles and black cutback adhesive installed before the mid-1980s. If your home was built before 1985 and has original flooring, we recommend asbestos testing before any demo work begins. We do not disturb suspected asbestos-containing materials - we work with certified abatement contractors to handle it properly first.
Do you move furniture as part of the demolition service?
We move standard furniture as part of the demo and flooring process. Large items like pianos, pool tables, wall-mounted shelving, and built-in appliances are typically the homeowner's responsibility. We'll flag anything unusual during the pre-job walkthrough so there are no surprises on demo day.
