Tile & StoneTile & Stone
Wall tile installation demands precise layout, level courses, and plumb verticals. We install ceramic, porcelain, glass, and stone tile on bathroom walls, kitchen backsplashes, laundry areas, and statement feature walls.
We establish a true level reference line and plumb layout lines before setting a single tile. Thin-set is applied with the appropriate notch trowel, tiles are set with consistent joints, and grouted after full cure.

Frequently Asked Questions
How long does wall tile installation take?
A standard bathroom wall surround (3 walls around a tub or shower) typically takes 2-3 days including layout, setting, and grouting. A kitchen backsplash is usually a single day. Larger projects with complex patterns or large-format tile take longer. We confirm timing during the quote once we know the exact scope.
Does wall tile always need cement board or backer board behind it?
In wet areas like showers and tub surrounds, yes - drywall is not acceptable as a substrate for wet-area wall tile. We use cement board or waterproofed drywall-based systems as the base. In dry areas like kitchen backsplashes, standard drywall is fine as long as it's in good condition and firmly attached to the framing.
Should grout on wall tile be sealed?
In wet areas, yes - grout is porous and will absorb moisture and soap scum without sealing. We apply a penetrating grout sealer after the grout has fully cured. In dry areas like kitchen backsplashes, sealing is optional but extends the life of the grout and makes cleaning easier.
Are there weight limits for wall tile?
Yes - standard drywall and cement board assemblies have limits. Larger, heavier tiles like 24"x48" porcelain need proper backer, appropriate thin-set coverage, and may require additional wall anchoring. Natural stone on walls is very heavy - we assess the wall assembly and framing before specifying heavy materials on vertical surfaces.
